On Earth Day, come learn from one of the global experts working on the reduction of plastic pollution in our ocean, waters and communities. Learn about the dynamics of plastic pollution, how it differs from climate change, and why some say it is an even bigger issue. Plastic is used by virtually all of us in our daily lives and companies, and it is a highly useful material. But the complexity of the material makes it hard to re-value in its “after-life”, with the main challenge being its “capture” from the hands of the consumers or users. Learn how “bring-back” programs, mapping tools, measurement programs and the sounds of nature, can make a huge impact in improving this issue. M on the Bund, Shanghai, 4pm - April 23, 2016. Doug Woodring, Founder of Ocean Recovery Alliance will be speaking.

HONG KONG - The Plasticity Forum will hold its fifth annual international conference on April 27-28 in Shanghai, China. The forum – to be held at the Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai – focuses on the future of plastic, and where opportunities can be created with resource recovery, job creation and waste reduction. It takes place the same week as CHINAPLAS 2016, the world’s second-largest trade show, in Shanghai, where many of the world’s largest plastic producers will be present. Plasticity’s theme this year focuses on “Material Solutions for Undervalued Resources.”

The 5th annual Plasticity Forum will be held in Shanghai April 27-28, 2016, at the Andaz Hotel in that city’s Xintiandi district.

According to the event’s organizers, “China has just signed on to the World Plastics Council (which is a sponsor of this event), and the event is timed to coincide with the large Chinaplas trade show, which is one of the largest in the world for the plastic industry.”

Also participating in the 2016 Plasticity Forum will be officials from Jiangsu Province, “who are leading the way in China in an effort to create a strong circular economy system within their industrial parks and business communities,” says Doug Woodring of the Ocean Recovery Alliance, the lead organizer and founder of the event.
